Andrea Norman Henry and John Anthony Norman Theatre Scholarship (Application due April 15)
The recipient of this scholarship must be a senior at Churubusco High School pursuing theater. Please see the Churubusco High School Guidance Office for an application.

Andrew C. Spencer Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15) Created in memory of Andrew Spencer, this scholarship is available to a senior male athlete from Churubusco High School pursuing a four-year baccalaureate degree at any college or university. The applicant must be a four-year participant in at least one organized high school sport, be in the top half of his class with at least a GPA of B or better, and be a member of a Christian church.

This application is available to a Whitko High School senior, seeking a degree in art, design or architecture (including art education).

Ben Konger Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is open to any graduating senior from Churubusco High School with a 2.5 GPA or better who plans to continue their education by attending college or vocational school.

Bernice Carver Scholarship of Hope (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is available to a senior, Whitley County resident graduating from Columbia City, Churubusco or Whitko High School, in the top third of their class with a 3.2 (or above) grade point average. Applicants should have aspirations for a career in the field of nursing, teaching or science and plan to attend an Indiana college or university (public or private) in pursuit of a 4-year baccalaureate degree.

Charles White Scholarship (Application due April 15)
The recipient of this scholarship must be a senior at Columbia City High School pursuing a degree in Nursing. The recipient will be chosen by the Republican Party of Whitley County.

This scholarship is awarded to a Thespian at Churubusco High School. Please see the Churubusco High School Guidance Office for an application.

Three scholarships are given to Columbia City High School seniors for post-secondary education. Must have Rotary qualities.

Daniel E. Bolinger Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is available to a graduating senior from Whitko High School and who is interested in obtaining an associates degree from a junior college or vocational school.

Dan Mullett "For the Love of a Child" Scholarship (Application due April 15)
Friends and family established this scholarship in honor of beloved principal Dan Mullett. This scholarship is available to a Columbia City High School Senior, in the top half of their class. The applicant should be seeking a four-year baccalaureate degree in elementary education.

Donald L. and Irma Ferber Loan Scholarship (Application due June 1)
Established in the memory of Donald Ferber and his mother, this low-interest loan is made to Whitley County students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of college. Amount of loan varies and is renewable.

Eric Reed Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Eric Reed. It is awarded to a senior at Columbia City High School. Nominated by your teacher or the athletic director.

French Club Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship goes to a member of the French Club at Columbia City High School that plans to attend a college or university. Please see the Foreign Language Department for an application.

H.A.N.D.S. Scholarship (Application due April 15)
The H.A.N.D.S. Foundation gives a scholarship to a senior at Whitko High School, Columbia City High School, and Churubusco High School. The recipients must attend a four-year college and demonstrate scholarship, community service, and financial need.

Howard and Mimi Wherry Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This memorial scholarship is awarded to Columbia City High School seniors planning to attend college or trade school. More than one award is given each year, and the recipients are chosen based on academics and need.

JAKES Scholarship (Application due April 15)
JAKES is a youth organization that is part of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation. The recipient of this scholarship must be a Whitley County senior pursuing a degree in conservation.

Joey Devito Memorial Scholarship (No application required.)
This scholarship was established by friends and family of Joey Devito. This scholarship goes to a senior athlete at Columbia City High School.

This scholarship is available to a Whitko High School senior planning to attend a technical school for automotive.

Joseph and Irene Shull Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is for Columbia City High School seniors planning to attend a vocational, two-year, or four-year college. The recipients must be in the top 25% of their class. Application in the guidance office.

Kenny Beck "Changes in Latitude" Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is available to a graduating senior from Columbia City High School who intends to attain a degree from Purdue University. Applicants should have a 2.5 or better grade point average.

This scholarship is available to any senior Varsity Letter winner at Columbia City High School.

Lakota Chapter of the American Council of the Blind of Indiana Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is available to a senior, Whitley County resident graduating from Columbia City High School, Churubusco High School or Whitko High School, who is legally blind according to federal guidelines.

Lawrence and Freida Bunnell Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is available to a graduating senior who has attended Columbia City High School his/her final year and who is interested in attending an Indiana college or university (public or private) in pursuit of a 4-year baccalaureate degree. A maximum scholarship of $5,000 may be granted along with possible numerous scholarships of lesser amounts. Applicants should be in the top 50% of their class and demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Lilly Endowment, Inc. Community Scholarship (Application due January 11, 2010) *NEW*
This Scholarship was established in 1998 by Lilly Endowment Inc. to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana. The scholarship covers full tuition and $800 per year for books and equipment for four years. To qualify you must meet the following:

• Be a Whitley County resident for 12 months prior to the date of this application.
• Graduate with diploma from an accredited Indiana High School and plan to pursue a full-time    baccalaureate course of study at an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana.
• Have financial need.
• Demonstrate pride in the community, responsibility, perseverance, self-esteem, and the desire to    contribute to Whitley County through work or volunteerism.

Please carefully review your completed application before submitting it to the Foundation to ensure that all required documents have been included.

Margo Langohr Scholarship (Application due April 30, 2010)
This scholarship is available to a Whitley County resident planning to attend a college or accredited art school with aspirations of obtaining a Bachelors or Associates degree in an art-related field.

Megan Christine Young Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15, 2010)
Established in 2009, this scholarship honors Megan Christine Young, a charismastic young woman who was beloved by her family and friends and who touched many lives and hearts in her community. The award will be presented to a female student graduating from Churubusco High School and planning to continue her education in pursuit of a Bachelors or Associates Degree from an accredited institution. Preference will be given to applicants who have participated in athletics, remembering that Megan had a special passion for volleyball.

Natalie Mason Mullins Scholarship (Application due April 15)
The recipient of this scholarship must be a member of the senior class at Columbia City High School and pursuing an associate or baccalaureate degree.

Ohki Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship award will go to a Columbia City High School senior. A letter must be written to the principal of Columbia City High School explaining the student’s intent and need for the scholarship.

Rely and Izora Zumbrum Scholarship (No application required.)
This memorial scholarship goes to the Valedictorian and Salutatorian from Columbia City High School.

Roark Maxwell Fizer Memorial Scholarship(Application available again, and due April 15, 2010)
This scholarship is for any senior Columbia City High School student that will be attending a college or university in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree. The recipient will be chosen based on academic standards and financial need. This scholarship is renewable for four years. After each four years, a new recipient will be chosen.

Robert & Grace Karst R.N. Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is awarded annually to a Whitley County resident with at least a 3.0 G.P.A., who is intent upon becoming a Registered Nurse, and who will be attending an Indiana College or University.

Robert Hood Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15)
The Robert Hood Memorial Scholarship goes to an outstanding senior from the instrumental music department at Columbia City High School. The student must have been a four-year band member and plan to major in instrumental music at college. The recipient must have a C+ average in all classes. If no student meets the criteria, any student meeting other requirements may be selected. The Music Department at Columbia City High School will meet and vote on recipient.

Senator Harold "Potch" Wheeler Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This living monument was created to honor Harold "Potch" Wheeler, a beloved and well-respected State Senator, who was dedicated to representing the people of Whitley County, Indiana with an honest, down-to-earth approach to government. This competitive scholarship will be awarded annually to a senior graduating from any Whitley County High School who plans to attend college and pursue a career in public service representing the Republican Party, or to a student who plans a career within the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. The recipient will be the individual who best emulates the ideals and personal character traits that Senator Wheeler embodied.

Spanish Club Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship will be awarded to a Columbia City High School student with at least 3 years of Spanish with a B+ average or higher. The student must be at least a three-year member in good standing of CCHS Spanish Club and show intent to further the study of Spanish at the collegiate level. Please see the Foreign Language Department for an application.

SRC Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This Scholarship is awarded annually to anyone, who is intent upon attaining an education, whether through a four-year college, graduate school, or comparable trade school program. Applicants should have aspirations for a science-related career, such as nursing, microbiology, or veterinary technology.

Tiffany Parker Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15)
A senior graduating from Columbia City High School will be awarded funding to pursue a post-secondary degree. The individual must show a commitment to goals and education.

Tom Ness Memorial Award (Application due April 15)
The award goes to a Columbia City senior girl or boy that is a letter blanket winner. The student must demonstrate excellent team spirit and team play. Nominated by your teacher or the athletic director.

Recipient selected during the Whitley County 4-H Fair

This scholarship will go to a Whitley County senior involved with 4-H Beef Club. Please contact the 4-H Extension Office for more information. The recipient will be selected during the Whitley County 4-H Fair.

Whitley County Art Guild Anne Hamilton Scholarship (Application due April 30,2010)
This scholarship is available to any Whitley County High School (Columbia City, Whitko or Churubusco) or home schooled seniors. The applicant must be planning to attend a college or accredited art school with the intention of obtaining an Associates or Bachelors degree in an art-related field.

Whitley County Builders' Association Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is available to a graduating senior who attends Columbia City High School, Churubusco High School, or Whitko High School and is planning to pursue an technical, associate or baccalaureate degree in the building trades field (such as Construction Engineer, Architecture, Building trades, etc.)

Whitley County Korean War Veterans Memorial Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is open to any Whitley County senior with a GPA of at least 2.5 and in the top 75% of his/her class. The senior should be planning to attend a vocational school to receive an Associate’s Degree or equivalent certification.

Whitley County Retired Teachers Scholarship (Application due April 15)
This scholarship is available to a graduating senior from any public high school in Whitley County who is planning to attend a 4-year college or university in pursuit of a Baccalaureate degree. Applicants should be in the top third of their graduating class, hold a grade point average of 3.0 or better and have aspirations of a career in education.
